According to one source Actinopterygii date back to the Devonian period which is between 360 and 415 Ma. Neopterygii date back to 300 – 355 Ma and teleostei near 300 Ma (280 Ma). I wasn’t aware that nearly all marine fish descended from freshwater ancestors.
