At about 9000ft in central Colorado we have lots of nuthatches, including, rarely, the red breasted (not very red really). Several of them sit on my head when I am filling the sunflower seen feeder. Friendly and aggressive little birds. Similar in habits to the chickadee.
It’s a nuthatch for sure. I live in Northern Montana. I second Jimalakirti comment. Friendly and aggressive. They know who fills the feeder…they lobby me to my face as I do it. 🙂
