This is very sad, as there will be no photos on the third day of Koynezaa. We are at rock bottom, kaput, tan muerto como una roca, mort et bien mort. I have none in the queue save a few singletons, and that bodes ill for the future of the feature.
BUT, if you have good wildlife photos, send them in pronto.
Here are a few penguin and landscape pictures I took in Antarctica in 2022, just so you’ll have something:
A chick:

These … are rock-bottom….
… and that’s good enough for me 😁.
Working on some.
Me too
Me three.
Beautiful, but at the same time hinting at the bleakness of running out of wildlife pictures.
I like the first one with the red “lips.” I don’t believe I’ve seen that species before. Or is that an Emperor Penguin?
They’re gentoo penguins. They breed on the Antarctic Peninsula and subantarctic islands of the Pacific and Atlantic.
Thanks. I’ll do some research on them.
Does this count as a wildlife picture? Squirrel being rescued in my hometown: https://www.binghamtonhomepage.com/news/binghamton-fire-rescues-squirrel-stuck-in-dumpster-on-christmas-eve/
Nice pictures! Where was the duck? Looks like a mallard (probably with some domestic genes), and checking iNaturalist there don’t seem to be any other species that look similar in that general area. The only mallard record they have is from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, so anywhere south of there would be interesting.
It’s always delightful to see penguins!
That chick looks like s/he’s wearing a cape.
I’m working on some plant photos.
