Meanwhile, in Dobrzyn, Hili is grappling with one of the fundamental forces (also, gravity seems to be stronger in Poland than the UK – no apples falling here).
Hili: That damn gravity again. And who is supposed to pick it up?
Me: Don’t worry, we have a great friend, he’ll take care of it.
In Polish:
Hili: Znowu ta cholerna grawitacja. I kto to pozbiera?
Ja: Spokojnie, mamy wspaniałego przyjaciela, on się tym zajmie.

I don’t have anything to add about cats and gravity, but for the record, today is the 100th anniversary of the start of the Scopes trial.
Thank you to Andrzej and Matthew for keeping Hili going while PC is travelling! It looks as if someone needs to make applesauce!
Those apples are in my way! Can’t someone move them?
Sorry to be a day late to the party, but just need to say that that is very, very Hili Norman! Excellent.
But plums have been falling in the UK for ten days or so.
“Ultima Thule”
Never heard that expression before – love it!
Did you know
A magnet will lose strength when brought to higher temperature – and strength is restored when returning. The T at which the magnet becomes paramagnetic is the Curie temperature – and I guess it can lose the magnetism entirely.
This is an amusing phenomenon to explore when outside cooking on the grill.
BTW try dragging a magnet (wrapped in a plastic bag) in the sand. Lots of particles come up.
