Today’s Jesus and Mo strip, called “nature,” came with the caption, “Jesus lets her confuse him.” And indeed she does. Now Jesus and Mo have no reason to be homophobic!

OMG so good!
I’ll keep this handy for discussions with my right-wing evangelical Christian relatives 🙂
This is a good one. … deserves more comments
Yes, hilarious and profound.
I subscribe to the artist through Patreon, so I get his strip via email and usually don’t click through on WEIT. I thought today’s was so great, I wanted to read the comments, but was disappointed as well. I’m not a big commenter, so I don’t really have a right to complain, but still!
Brilliant!
One of the best
The barmaid served a good one…
One of the best yet (missed it yesterday).
At risk of taking this humorous cartoon a little too seriously, I was reminded of an article I read many years ago that examined David Hume’s perspective on “miracles.” Hume — if I am remembering the article correctly — started with the same premise, that a “miracle” is a violation of a law of nature, but Hume went on to argue that, since we do not have perfect knowledge of the laws of nature, we cannot claim with any real confidence that an event is an actual violation of a law of nature…. Consequently, Hume suggests, we cannot be certain that any event is an actual “miracle.”
As a physician, I am acutely aware of this problem: for example, over the over the “miracles” attributed to would-be-saints are medical in nature, and it doesn’t take much medical knowledge to see that what looked like a miraculous cure in 1825 might be routine today and is firmly rooted in science. I was reminded of this when the current pope was released from hospital after recovering from pneumonia, and his physician called his recovery a “miracle.” He beat the odds, perhaps, but to call it a “miracle” seems a bit credulous….
