Jesus ‘n’ Mo ‘n’ the Qur’an

Today’s Jesus and Mo strip, called “decide”, came with the note, “Because the Koran is the most overrated book in the history of the written word.”

Jesus is fed up with the contents of Mo’s book (a book apparently dictated to Mo by an angel from Allah), and is making a bulletin board.   (I have indeed read both the Bible and Qur’an, and while both are fictional, the Qur’an (the “final revelation”) is nastier to unbelievers).

  1. LOL

Seriously – in the time these holey books were written – and practiced – how many could actually read and think about the original material for themselves?

More likely they were coerced and overpowered on many levels.

I’m just so glad that doesn’t happen anywhere nowadays – only in antiquated religious buildings with old holy books and kitsch.

  2. On this matter, Milestones by Sayyid Qutb provides an interesting if not revealing perspective.

  3. Ha! Well done.

Unfortunately these days most people start with an ideology and a set of preconceived “facts” and their only real exercise is finding a way to claim that everything they see, hear, or read conforms to their agenda. So yes, read the “holy book”… and ignore what you don’t like, and embellish what you do.

third rate bible fan fiction disguised as a fantasy novel by Toilet Viking
might as well title it ‘Jihadists of Gor”

  4. The Qur’an is a repetitive read that gives a strong sense of the author having little religious knowledge other than a passing acquaintance with a couple of Bible stories from the Old Testament.

  5. Funny Jesus n Mo about reading the Quran. I’ve tried to read it, I really have, but it’s one of the most unreadable books ever (and I’ve read the bible!). It’s a toss-up as to which book is most unreadable – the Quran or the Book of Mormon.
