The latest Jesus and Mo cartoon, called “racism”, came with the sentence, “Happy Islamophobia Awareness Month!:
Ahmadiyya Muslims, by the way, have teachings distinct from those of Sunni and Shiite Muslims, including the resurrection of Jesus and the denial of “abrogation”: the view that the later-written verses of teh Qur’an supersede the earlier ones.

Reminds me of the Emo Philips joke:
Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, “Don’t do it!” He said, “Nobody loves me.” I said, “God loves you. Do you believe in God?”
He said, “Yes.” I said, “Are you a Christian or a Jew?” He said, “A Christian.” I said, “Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?” He said, “Protestant.” I said, “Me, too! What franchise?” He said, “Baptist.” I said, “Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?” He said, “Northern Baptist.” I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?”
He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist.” I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?” He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region.” I said, “Me, too!”
Northern Conservative†Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?” He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912.” I said, “Die, heretic!” And I pushed him over.
Thanks for the belly laugh both of you. It’s a great day for finding humor wherever we can.
In the middle east, Ahmadi muslins are persecuted in every Muslim country. Israel is the only place they can safely practice their religion.
Islamophobia… is there any other term for racism against anyone other than Muslims that has “phobia” attached to it? I refer specifically to racism, since that is how this term is usually targeted, and not to things like sexual orientation (i.e., homophobia).
They call it “racism,” but Islamophobia refers to a religion and not a race. So of course the accusation doesn’t hold up racially. For example, and speaking generally, Muslims in Saudi Arabia are Arabic peoples, while Muslims in Indonesia are not. If someone is attacking all Muslims then they are not attacking anyone racially. And the reverse is true as well.
It’s a nice trick, getting any critical word against any of them, of any nature, transmuted into an attack on their religion and therefore an attack on all of them. Stemming from an irrational fear, no less. I almost have to admire it.
How do you have racism against a religion? Especially when that religion encompasses a number of “races”?
Ilthiophobia … the fear of stupidity?
