Readers’ wildlife photos

April 9, 2024 • 8:15 am

We’re almost at the bottom of the tank again, so please send in your good photos. Thanks.

Today we have some fall photos from a reader who prefers to remain anonymous. But he/she added this:

I’ve attached some pics of fall foliage, from right here at my home in NY’s Hudson Valley.

  1. I know exactly what it feels like in these … ahhh, bracing, refreshing… here’s a NY writer that comes to mind I could make a note of :

    John Burroughs

Might be interesting to follow up his rather obscure (= hidden treasures IMHO) stuff.

  2. It’s wonderful to see those fall colors. I don’t get to see that on the west coast, so thank you! It’s so beautiful.
I took a cycling trip through the Hudson Valley and the photos remind me of my wonderful time there.
    Thanks!

  3. Lovely photographs and I welcomed this reminder of fall as we anticipate the “green wave”. It isn’t spring yet here but it’s coming. And so is fall.

Perfect timing and I appreciate stirring the memories – the sounds in the trees and on the ground and the smell of fall as well as its feel.

    Thank you.

  4. Beautiful fall leaves against a clear blue sky. What could possibly be wrong in the world when such beauty abounds?

  5. These gorgeous photos would surely qualify as top-notch abstract art. Thank you.

      1. The last photo could be made into one of the most challenging jigsaw puzzles- experts only!

On second look, all the photos would make for wicked hard jigsaw puzzles.

  6. Here’s one more resounding thumbs up. Autumn was such a magical time for me when I moved to Ann Arbor for “you know what”. As others have said, I just don’t get to experience it here in the desert southwest, nor where I grew up on the west coast. Lovely. Thank you.

  7. Thanks very much for all your kind words about my pictures (and thanks to Jerry for posting them, and for his keeping alive the flame of liberalism). Feel free to download them, make that jigsaw puzzle, whatever you like; the internet should be free. I’ve made blankets, throw pillow cases, and metal prints out of them, both for myself and as gifts…just a hobby.
