Readers’ wildlife photos

We have a double treat today. First, our daily photos are the usual great ones from Stephen Barnard, who’s been absent for a while. Second, the photos are of DUCKS—ducks photographed at or near his ranch in Idaho. His captions are indented, and you can enlarge his photos by clicking on them. This is the first of three installments of the local fauna; stay tuned for the other two in coming days.

Greetings from Aubrey Spring Ranch. I’m sending some photos in installments. The first installment is ducks.

American Wigeon (Mareca americana), landing gear down.

Green-winged Teal (Anas carolinensis)

Cinnamon Teal (Anas cyanoptera)

Northern Pintail (Anas acuta), the first and only one I’ve seen here.

    1. Allowing for the vicissitudes of old age, I’m doing as well can be expected. My beloved Border Collie Deets passed a year ago, but I have a new pup to keep me and Hitch company. My first grandchild, Josephine, was born last Monday.
