JAC: Readers should feel free to explain the last illusion.
Very cool. I am think that there will be circular motions of water under the surface, and it is those that pretty much cause the surface ripples.
The glass with water is like a cylindrical lens (~1.3 water and ~1.5 glass). The empty glass is not really acting like a lens, but more like two sheets of glass with not much curvature (not planar-convex or planar-concave).
Meaning that photons from the end-points of the arrow which travel through water are refracted such that their paths cross, thereby reversing the image.
The last illusion is the work of the magic water fairies. Where’s your science now???
HOW DO YOU KNOW? WERE YOU THERE?

There is this famous picture that proves that physics is phun.
Once again, no gifs on my computer. This happens every so often and I just don’t know why.
Great fun–especially the sheep! 🙂
I think they are practicing for the ChampionShips
Laughing, SMH… 😀
You guys have obviously never seen this movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gEDUDmZkyc
LOL again–looks ovine!
😀
Those are effing brilliant! Thanks.
Love the water gif – mind opening and I’ll have to show it to my kids.
Great gifs! I love these things. 🙂
