Reader John W. called to my attention the best kind of aggregation site: one that collects animal webcams from all over the Internet. The site, on Explore, has a gazillion cams with wildlife, though, sadly, many include d*gs, and some are in zoos. It also tells you which cams are active and which are inactive because it’s nightime or off season (the latter two categories still show highlights). Here’s a screenshot of what you can see; click on any of the three photos below to go to the (same) aggregator page:
John says he’s especially fond of the chipmunks. .
Yep. Because we all have too much extra time to fill… 🙂
And if you want to see kittens, check out strangejourney.net/kittencams/. It’s an aggregation of foster kitteh cams.
Couldn’t find the Site. need more info.

That’s a good one. 🙂
I confess to be smitten with baby birdy cams because it’s such a voyeuristic treat. They are so good at hiding their babies we would never see things like ginormous eagle beaks tearing off miniscule pieces of fish to feed fuzzy widdle hatchlings with a delicateness you wouldn’t expect such huge birds to be capable of.
Check this out: ipetcompanion.com. It’s a webcam that looks into shelters’ kitteh rooms and actually lets you interact through toys you can manipulate via your internet connection! It’s raising the adoption rate, connecting hospitalized kids with live pets, and even on path to present a home-based product, which I, of course, want for my cats, if they can get enough kickstarter funding by June 15th.
