I think it was because it is winter, cold, & Xmas bills are rolling in. St least that is what I heard on the radio.
Actually, I bet it has more to do with some low-ranking hack in some news publication needing to justify his job. Probably the same guy who tells us which night of the year you’re most likely to wind up on the couch, when you shouldn’t go bowling, how this one weird food can reduce your mortgage, and so on.
