Yes, that human rights thing is a problem for these religions in a big way.
As this subject also includes the conversation of torture it would be good for those concerned with the Sam Harris views on this to go over and look at some of the more updated things said. He is not generally in favor of torture but would not totally rule it out in extreme cases. He also seems to want to use collateral damage in bombings in his discussion but the reasoning for this does not really stick with me.
I believe the results achieved from it’s use make it useless and the report from congress says this as well. When you act like the enemy you have removed any difference.
