The situation goes beyond freedom of speech rights. The course syllabus should be examined carefully to make sure students are, indeed, receiving the factual science education that they’ve paid for, since the professor’s religious views appear to be at odds with the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. A responsible university can do no less, as their scientific reputation is on the line.
