As usual, I’d like to end the week on a high note.
No scraps for this bear: he wants the whole damn dumpster! And he gets it. Hooray for the animals who outwit us at every turn.

Dare I say, Smarter than the average bear?
He’s not greedy, he’s only taking the bear necessities.
It’s plain to see he’s bearly scraping by.
That’s the biggest pic-a-nic basket I’ve ever seen.
It just like a human thief, so what no common ancestry?
That was incredible!
Do you really think that bear is real? Could it walk that quickly backwards on two legs?
Yep, that’s a bear alright. A family friend lives up north where there are bears and he was cooking himself a hamburger on his bbq. He went inside for a moment then noticed a bear trying to steal the hamburger. He put his head out the door & said, “that’s not your hamburger; that’s for me”. The bear bolted, knocked over the bbq and ran off with that bear augh, augh, augh sound.
That damn bear looks uncannily humanoid, walking backwards pulling the dumpster behind him. Gives me a creepy feeling watching it.
Yay bear!
Hahahahahaha! Would that be Meals on Wheels?
I swear at 1:25 he looks first to check his clearance before dragging the dumpster.
Yup…even looked up at the camera.
Idk … that doesn’t look right to me. Too good to be true, I’m siding with Merilee for now. Can see thing being exposed as fake!
Hahahahahaha…. The Paddington Express!
Saw the story on the news just now. The report was that the bear had taken a dumpster the night before also and they showed a short clip of that as well. Reported that the restaurant has now put down spikes to keep the dumpster in place. Reported that this occurred in Colorado Springs.
Yeah I saw the clip on the news too. 🙂
Spikes? Aww, that sounds a bit painful for the poor bear.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too but, I’m hoping and suspect it was just something to hold the wheels in place. Maybe something like a tent peg?

The guy watching the security camera couldn’t do anything. Just grin and bear it…
I’m always a fan of ending on a high note, myself….

Reminds me of Terry Bisson’s story ‘Bears discover fire’
“The light went out again, then came back better than ever as I was fitting the spare over the lugs. “Much better,” I said. There was a flood of dim orange flickery light. But when I turned to find the lug nuts, I was surprised to see that the flashlight the boy was holding was dead. The light was coming from two bears as the edge of the trees, holding torches. They were big, three-hundred pounders, standing about five feet tall. Wallace Jr. and his father had seen them and were standing perfectly still. It’s best not to alarm bears…Opening three doors at once, we got into the car and drove off. Wallace was the first to speak. “Looks like bears have discovered fire,” he said. ”

I love that story.. Haven’t read it for a few years. Now I’ll have to rummage in my books and find it again.
Er, this is generally how bears get shot. Learning how to use human food sources is a very bad thing.
