  1. Congratulations! This is absolutely my favourite website – I even have a folder with all your posts since the summer of 2010.

  2. Congratulations Jerry!

I often read posts in my email without visiting the website. I doubt those count. 🙁 Does anyone here know?

    1. I don’t know if the email counts, but I do know that if you read only the email, you miss any corrections, updates, or addenda to the original post. So I make it a policy to click through to the actual site before reading.

    2. My guess is that if you click on the header of the post in your email, it should count as a visit to the site, because you’re automatically taken to the site (the full url of the site comes up and all that). So, click away, man.

    3. The WordPress stats distinguish between onsite and syndicated views. Only onsite views are included in the individual post view totals, so I think that the website view totals are similarly restricted.

    4. Not to doubt Greg’s comment but, WordPress has a help page that addresses feeds including feed statistics.

Someone reading your posts via a feed will not count towards your blog statistics. However, you still can view the number of syndicated views on each of your blog posts.

  3. Just my usual plea to make WEIT available on the Kindle app for AUSTRALIANS. When from time to time, I check for WEIT – up comes a book, ‘Why Evolution is NOT True’ by a creationist. I’ve written to a number of authors, and they manage to get their publisher to organise we from DownUnder to join the rest of the world. Could you please ask them again……

    1. I have WEIT on my Kindle, and I’m Australian. There are ways round their infuriating restrictions, just go to your Kindle settings and change your country to USA.

      1. They know me too well. I’ve been buying from Amazon.com for ages, and now on the Kindle app for 3 yrs. However, Marella, thanks for your suggestion!

  4. When I arrive home after work, I visit a few regular sites (some of them like squidly things, go figure!). WEIT is always first. Thank you for what you are doing here.

  5. Totally addicted to your columns plus I pass them on to others. I have read your book. Wish you would lecture in Toronto soon.

  6. This is to be celebrated- not as an individual success, but as the success of rational thought. The higher the numbers, the better the chances for all of us.
I proffer my personal ‘thank you’ for Prof. Coyne’s efforts. Everyone can make a difference. Whether it’s Carrier or Dr. Prof. Elsimar Coutinho- the world can be changed.

  7. This is the most literate, thoughtful, educational and entertaining website on the internet. I know what I read here is thoroughly researched and thoughtfully written and that the author’s goals never supersede the truth. And I know if something written here is incorrect, it will be corrected either by one of the readers or by the author himself very quickly. And although the author’s point of view is openly displayed in his words and his choice of topics, his agenda still doesn’t stick out all over the place and get in the way of the discussion. WEIT is a place of intellect and integrity that is also very entertaining. Thank you for all the effort and for sharing your thoughts and ideas.
