This is the conservative mentality at work. Conservatives fear change, and so they look toward stability and order in the traditional way of doing things.
And when you’re in a liberal progressive movement, being conservative makes absolutely no sense, because the movement is seeking change, not keeping the status quo the same.
Atheism is not going to be a solution by itself, because atheists are not necessarily liberal minded or rational.
New Atheism must seek to fix itself into a coherent social or political philosophy, otherwise it will schism and fragment based on personalities and conformity before long.

Eh, no thanks. I’m far too burned out and pessimistic–as well as uncharming and uncharismatic and illiterate–to pursue a project that flatly contradicts human nature.
