This is a serious step backwards for the university
I want to congratulate Frederick Lawrence for providing the students at Brandeis with a clear picture of his and the university’s support for free expression, activism on behalf of women’s rights and religious freedom. Mr. Lawrence’s actions are another example of cowardice in the face of opposition to another point of view.
Freedom of speech and open discussion is the bedrock of democracy. You have weakened democracy with this action and moved toward the sort of government that more resembles a middle eastern theocracy. Is that what the USA is about? Shame on you.
