Yeah. It’s not just with Islam, though for various reasons there is a lot of it associated with Islam.
The sad truth is that speaking out against any entrenched religion or political movement (conservative or liberal) will get the same reaction. Dehumanization, pontification, dismissal, out-right lying, intimidation, silencing of dissent.
And while it will/may be with different pejoratives and tactics in delivering them, in the end it seems that most all of these movements share the same desire to crush those who point out the core, underlying premises of the religion/movement are nothing more than a load of vastly-overstated, or outright made-up, horse manure.
