I missed this Bill Maher “New Rules” clip from last October, but better late than never. In this segment called “Crazy in gov,” Maher assesses whether Democrats or Republicans are more deranged, Although he does point out some craziness on the part of “progressives,” but it is the Republicans who get the Most Deranged prize. So much for people who think Maher is right. He’s a classical liberal, for crying out loud!
I feel sorry for press secretary Karoline Leavitt, forced to mouth ardent defenses of Trump, but on the other hand maybe she actually believes the pablum she regurgitates.
Maher’s guests here are Michael Steele, co-host of MNBC Weeknight, and CNN political analyst Kate Bedingfield, who was former White House director of communications under Biden.

Reminder: Maher had dinner with Trump and tried to sane-wash Trump live on national television. Maher went to have a dinner with a man that attempted to steal a US Presidential election, pardoned violent insurrectionists, and attempts every day to erode and destroy the democracy of the United States of America.
Maher had dinner with a literal traitor to the USA (Trump), and then attempted (badly) to defend it on national television, plus attacked anyone that vehemently disagreed with Maher’s choice to have dinner with a traitor to the USA.
Maher lost the moral high ground a long time ago, and lost my respect forever.
He may be right on some things, but his judgment is tainted, his moral vision clouded.
Maher is more interested in “making friends” and “getting along” (with Trump) than staying on the attack against fascists, thieves, and sociopathic liars. Maybe he’ll go on the attack again… until his next dinner with Trump?
One does not defeat fascism by having dinner with the cult leader of the fascists and smiling gleefully with the cult leader.
Maher deserves no respect as some “wise” political commentator when he tries to sane wash a sociopathic traitor, gooes and has dinner with the sociopath, then attacks others for pointing out he is an idiot for having dinner with a deranged lying treasonous cult leader.
TLDR: Maher sucks, anyone still thinking he’s worth quoting or acknowledging as a source of valuable political commentary apparently isn’t aware that Maher had a “lovely” dinner with Trump (a fascist cult leader), or doesn’t care.
If the latter, than they do not actually care about the United States of America and the values (including freedom FROM religion) that are at our core as a nation of people.
Remember, Trump, Republicans, and all their little cult minions are at the forefront of attacks against secularism. Maher going to have a lovely little dinner with the head of that movement is yet another sign Maher has lost his way and lacks moral clarity.
All this rage because Maher had dinner with Trump and then criticized him the whole time? You are badly misguided. And since you implicitly go after me for posting it (you’re clearly new and haven’t read the Roolz), you should go over to Pharyngula and join the deranged mob there, who also demonize people for having dinner with Trump.
