Donating to the Jerry Coyne/Honey the Duck Evolutionary Biology Research Fund

April 15, 2025 • 8:45 am

A few readers have asked how they can donate to the Jerry Coyne/Honey the Duck Evolutionary Biology Research Fund, which I wrote about yesterday. It is to fund the research of University of Chicago biology students working on some aspect of organismal evolution (more described at link above).  If you wish to make a donation, no matter how small, please email me and I will send you instructions.  I assure you that any donations will be used nearly in full to fund research.

I thank you, and Honey thanks you!

Yes, that’s Honey and one of her broods above.

  1. Yesterday, you called into question Doctors Without Borders as a charity, but did not give a reason. Charity Navigator highly rates it, so why the caution and admonition? (I have not contributed to them.)

    1. I SAID if you Google it you’ll find the answer. If you wish to donate to them, feel free to do so. I wanted to highlight the fellowship, not get into politics or start a big fracas. So please respect my wishes, okay?

  2. Hi Jerry,

First, your website is my tonic every morning and it is wonderfully addictive. As a visual artist ( and your age is the same as mine) I find so many overlaps with the creative process and evolutionary biology, but that is another subject in itself. I also credit you with introducing me to Robert Sapolsky and the questionable nature of Dennett’s combatabilism and free will, but I digress. I want the website for Duck Evolutionary Biology Research Fund for I trust they have no latent ideological agendas critical of Jews and the intractable Gaza fiasco.

Again, thanks for your brute force honesty and stamina in every morning stimulating me with your insights on the planet’s expanding idiocracy.
Hitchens would be proud of you.
