Shouldn’t that be “Why we know that evolution is true?”
Because evolution is true (and pretty well inevitable) if we simply grant Darwin’s several observations: Beings reproduce; offspring differ from parents; beings have different numbers of offspring and might have none; traits are inherited; different traits aid or hinder reproductive success; different traits can accumulate; success depends on conditions; conditions change.
