Actually, of course, your ‘argument’ is just the same old god of the gaps and an argument from personal incredulity. YOU don’t know what consciousness is and YOU can’t think what it could be, therefore God.
When you a priori demonstrate the existence of this magic entity then you will be entitled to ascribe causality to it. As it is, your reasoning is circular therefore dishonest and should be pared away with Ockham’s Razor as it adds nothing to the solution but more layers of unnecessary complexity.
The argument would have been just as (in)valid had you concluded that it was all due to a magic peanut-butter sandwich.
Hiding that under a heap of verbiage doesn’t make it any more valid.
