I recently revisited Wellfleet and saw many fiddler crabs but recall when I found a horseshoe crab shell in the area now called Indian Neck Conservation site. I can only hope that the rich diversity of life that so enthralls beach combers and tidal pool observers returns and yet it seems that species who used to mate aren’t communicating as reflections of the general strife and isolationism that effects domestic and international politics.
