These photos were sent in by Suzanne Sherry but were taken by her husband Paul Edelman. Their notes are indented, and you can enlarge the photos by clicking on them.
My husband is still too modest to send in his newest photos himself. But photo credits should go to Paul Edelman, novice bird photographer. These were all taken at Radnor Lake State Park in Nashville Tennessee, about five miles from our home. Except for the Wilson’s snipe—we looked unsuccessfully for that darned snipe all over Southwest Florida and then Paul found one next to a small pond in our own neighborhood! I know how much you love ducks, so I’m including two pairs of wood ducks. All photos were taken with the same Nikon D500 camera and Nikkor 500mm f5.6 lens.

Beautiful photos!
Very nice pictures!
These are wonderful! I love that very round White-throated sparrow.
Thanks so much!
Amazing pictures. That first shot of the swallow in flight could be used on the cover of an ornithology text or similar. It’s astonishing.
Agreed. Birds or insects in flight are so much more difficult. Great picture.
Terrific set of photos here. Bravo! I just picked up a refurbished telephoto Nikkor 200mm-500mm f5.6. Should arrive on Tuesday. I bought it to capture birds and other wildlife around our home. From the look of your photos, it does a nice job.
These are so lovely. Thanks, Suzanne and Paul!
Love how each featured photographer sort of add a unique style to the bird ones. I can’t describe it, but they all sort of have the same “look.” Like, ‘Ah, an old friend, he’s ok’ or ‘Just letting you know we’re cool, as long as you don’t get closer,’ etc.
Gorgeous photos – thanks for making my day.
