Dorothy’s ten offspring jumped three stories down to the pond at 8:45 this morning (another one was either injured or had a malformed leg, and I’ve sent it to rehab). Posting may be light for a longish while as I make sure the ducklings are protected and fed.
The ducklings in the photos below have been on the pond for only a few hours. It’s their first experience with water and the world in general.

That’s excellent news! Thanks for keeping us abreast of things, PCC(E)! I hope the little one will thrive at rehab. Poor thing…. not an auspicious entry into this big, wild, wide world. It should be named Lucky (Lucky to have a benefactor such as you), because out in the real wild, I’m not sure of its chances.
