Today’s reader (and there are no more!) is Joe Dickinson, a former colleague who worked on Drosophila. His photo caption is brief:
I tried to respond to your post on readers’ photos but could not figure out how to attach photos, so here is my composite of 8 year old and 80 year old (today) me.
Thanks Joe. Isn’t it amazing how the resemblance persists through the years!
Give or take the beard😬
Similar hair style though! Same part and all.
Same eyes.
Happy birthday – and many happy returns!
Hey Joe, you haven’t changed a bit, but then I am old and don’t see so well.
Happy Birthday!
It’s funny to see your hair today is still parted on the left side.
And it always has been on the left except for a couple of years with a “flat top” in college. It’s how my mother taught me to comb it and I never questioned her wisdom. No, wait, there also were a couple of years with a “crewcut” around ages 8-10.
Those flat tops were something else! Lots of”butch wax”?
Here’s wishing you a swell octogenarian run, Joe!
It’s great to put a face to the immense talent on RWL, for one. Happy bird-day, Mr. Dickinson!
Happy Birthday!
Those overalls look just like the pair I wore when I was that age. Happy birthday.
Photos of 8 and 80…I hope I’m as lucky. Doubt it though. Happy Birthday!
