Friday: Hili dialogue

August 29, 2014 • 3:08 am

As editor of Listy, Hili obviously read Matti Friedman’s piece, which Malgorzata is translating for the site.  Notice, too, that Hili makes an oblique reference to Hitchens’s book, Why Orwell Matters. Hilis’s obviously taking more interest in matters of the mind as opposed to matters of the stomach.  (Professor Ceiling Cat also recommends the book.)

Hili Why is Orwell still important?
A: Because the media are run by the wrong animals.

In Polish:

Ja: Dlaczego Orwell jest nadal ważny?
Hili: Bo mediami rządzą niewłaściwe zwierzęta.

  1. Honestly, we may ascribe some thoughts in cats, but this one is too deep, even for Hili.
Did she read Animal Farm or 1984? No, I thought so.
I’m sorry, but I think you just made it up.
(which does not mean I do not appreciate her comment, it is kind of applicable).
What would the Smilodon or some Nimravid think?

    1. Seriously? You actually think that maybe there is a chance that a human might secretly be writing Hili’s portion of the dialogue?

      For realz?
