February 9, 2014 • 10:17 am

Hili is on her soapbox. . . or something like it.

(Words in balloon)
Verily, I say unto you, read “Letters from our orchard””.

A: Hili, what are you doing up there?
Hili: I’m giving a Sunday sermon.

In Polish:

Ja: Hili, co ty tm robisz?
Hili: Wygłaszam kazanie na niedzielę dzisiejszą.

  1. That whale with fishy scales baroque pulpit is in Dobroszów, Poland – the Church of Saint Hedwig. A nice slideshow & history of the church HERE

    1. Michael Fisher @ 3, thank you for the link.

At first glance, I thought Hili was sitting in the mouth of a stylized T. Rex. (See that shrunken “arm” that holds up the wide open jaw?)

When I noticed the thing had scales I thought, Oh, maybe a serpent. Would never have guessed it was supposed to be a whale!

Whatever it is, Hili looks good in it, comme d’habitude.
