In my and Wikipedia’s memory, it was not (necessarily) green.
Probably confusing it with Behind the Green Door, which was a pop song and also a porn movie, I seem to remember (I haven’t seen it).
Reminds me of the joke about the guy who comes into the kitchen and sees a red hot pan on the stove. He picks it up and immediately lets it go. The cook smirks and asks, “Was that pan too hot for you?”
“Nope. It just doesn’t take me long to look at a pan.”

I was just telling Uncle Ben (well, if Baihu’s his cousin…) that the key seems to be that there was about one inch of snow on the stairs, and about five once he hit the sidewalk. He is very loyal about helping me feed the birds and squirrels every morning, but this was a bit much. This was at 5:00 AM, and it’s still snowing lightly at noon.
Actually, Keeshu is the one who will “make” me stand there with the door open while she decides what’s up. Then she will go to the front door, expecting something entirely different. Sigh…
Funny. Our cats do not even bother to step into the snow; they stay under the porch, if at all. Pussies.

I once corresponded with a lady who, with her husband, was stationed on Bermuda at the time their big hurricane hit (some years back; don’t recall the name of the hurricane). In the midst of the storm, their cat wanted out. Desperately. At wit’s end, she and her hubby finally cracked open the door an inch. The cat took one look and dived under the bed.
When I was living in the country with many cats, they all tended to frolick in the snow and even hunt for rodents, probably hearing them burrowing through the snow at ground level. The snow didn’t seem to bother them, but after a while they did seek out warmer and sheltered spots or ask to come into the house.
