I have made it to Poland after a long and exhausting trip.
The good news is that the weather is great (50 F and sunny) and I’m with my good friends, These include Malgorzata, Andrzej, and their boss, the editor-in-chief, who is showing a decidedly domineering attitude towards her staff:
Hili: This should be moved further down.A: Hili, you are disturbing me.Hili: On the contrary, I’m inspiring you.
In Polish:
Hili: Trzeba to przesunąć na dalszą pozycję.
Ja: Hili, przeszkadzasz.
Hili: Przeciwnie, inspiruję.
Hili really looks like she’s giving grammar instructions.
This time, don’t skimp on the weisswurst on the way home! I bought myself some as an Xmas treat this year.
It’s 50° out there?
Where are you? In the middle of the Sahara desert?
Fahrenheit not Celsius. 🙂 That’s 10C
Given the number of Jerry’s Muhrcan readers, he has to keep it simple for us – and avoid the metric system. Strange how drug dealers have no problem with the metric system.
Yes, 10C; I did the calculation in my head (C X 9/5) + 32 = F.
It is also 50F (10C) in Chicago right now. But Sunday night/Monday morning it is supposed to get to 0F (-18C). In Poland, temperature is supposed to be above freezing at least through New Year’s Day. Good timing Jerry.
Oh noes! Hili is a tyrant!
Have a wonderful time!
Hili reminds me of my cute but demanding feline roommate. Looking forward to getting home after the holidays to resume my domestic services 🙂
Have a blast, Dr. C! I hope you get tons of writing done towards your book.
I see cherry and walnut pies in your future… 🙂
That’s Kink. He sits on my lap when I’m downstairs using my 15″ MacBook Pro Retina (shameless plug) and sits in front of my iMac when I’m upstairs in the office. He loves to swat at the cursor which makes doing work even more of a challenge, and I can entertain him by playing “bird song” videos on YouTube which he really enjoys.
I don’t mind, though. A day with Kink creating “opportunities” for me to work around him is better than a day without him.
He does make it difficult to be a curmudgeon, I must say!
I know exactly what you mean….

I still work with a desktop. Occasionally my Big Orange Kitty will stand on the desk, sideways, blocking my view of the monitor. I tell him, “You’re made out of glass, you know,” but kitties are sarcasm-proof.
Glad you made it before any vulcanism got in the way. And it’s nice to know the weather’s better there than Chicago (this has even been a rather cold December for Houston.) In the immortal words of one of my favorites, Louis Black, “Where’s Global warming when you need it!!”
Enjoy the cold while you still get some. 😉
