Okay, we speak of “groß schreiben”, but not really the whole word 🙂
We just speak of ” Wörter groß schreiben” 🙂
Also, im Warsaw, wollen Sie schreiben dann im Polski? Bon voyage!
Ja, for obscure reasons it’s “auf Language”.
Still have to learn some real Polnisch, z polski perhaps …
auf polnisch
Whoops, auf Polnisch
Gute Reise 😉
Hals- und Beinbruch!
Nicht zu viel Bier und Wurst.
Mässig, aber regelmässig.
“Today, in the world of freedom, the proudest boast is ‘I am a Frankfurter!'”?
Wow! I’m impressed! a) German as a second language is supposed to be pretty tough. b) You’re an American and speak a foreign language?! 🙂 and c) your German is (almost) perfect 🙂
Gesundheit!
Sehr gut. Gute Reisen.
Pretty good, but I think that should have been “Ich wünsche Ihnen allen einen guten Morgen”?
Vielleicht euch.
Kommen Sie doch mal nach Berlin Professor Doktor Dachbodenkatze!
Ha! “Dachbodenkatze”! Ausgezeichnet!
Deckenkater? Heiliger Deckenkater? Unheiliger Deckenkater?
It should be Herr Professor Doktor Dachbodenkatze!
Mein Gott! 🙂
In Deiner Freizeit kannst Du dieses Gedicht von Gottfriend Benn auswendig lernen:
Meinen Sie Zürich zum Beispiel
sei eine tiefere Stadt,
wo man Wunder und Weihen
immer als Inhalt hat?
Meinen Sie, aus Habana,
weiß und hibiskusrot,
bräche ein ewiges Manna
für Ihre Wüstennot?
Bahnhofstraßen und Rueen,
Boulevards, Lidos, Laan –
selbst auf den Fifth Avenueen
fällt Sie die Leere an –
ach, vergeblich das Fahren!
Spät erst erfahren Sie sich:
bleiben und stille bewahren
das sich umgrenzende Ich.
I don’t speak German, but I can understand what everyone is saying without resorting to a translator.
Anyone know my secret?
In my youth I had a fiend who was German. One day, to my dismay, I overheard his parents talking to each other and discovered that they thought their son could find a much better quality friend than the one besmirching their household that day.
I am pleased to report that, whilst I was entering university some years later to embark on a four year science course, their proud son found himself in one her majesty’s prisons to commence a four year term for car theft.
Heh, a boy I sat next to in Year 11 was a nice enough kid, much smarter than me, much better exam results. His father was from Germany.
I bumped into him four years later. I’d gone to university, he’d spent some time as a guest of Her Majesty for stealing a car.
In my youth I had a fiend who was German.
No surprise that a fiend should end up in prison.
Deutsch ist einfach! 🙂
But especially for me.
Because I speak Dutch.
The two languages are so similar that I can usually make out what is being said or written in German.
I was once good at reading Dutch but that was back in my youth! 🙂
Although I have to admit that whenever I hear them sing in German they remind me a little of those strange Monty Python “Fliegender Zirkus” episodes.
Sorry, Lieder nicht Lider
Gute Reise!
Where are we going, and what am I doing in this handbasket?
Sorry, I could not resist…
