  1. I was just about to link to this when my computer went on a go slow – bloody shockwave!
    Excellent cartoon, and very apposite.

  2. Compare Richard’s favorite question with the Hamster’s:

    “How do you know that?”

    v

    “Were you there?”

They’re both questions that a child would eagerly latch on to, but the one will open the world to exploration whilst the other slams the door on your fingers.

  3. A side benefit is that you don’t have to memorize anything in 12th Century Arabic, give up 10% of your income, go door-to-door pestering people, fast, abstain from pork, or worry about false claims of an afterlife.

    1. You seem to be confusing justified criticism with hatred, they are not the same thing at all.

I think that you will find that the 33% figure can only be acheived by adding up the entire populations of nominally Christian countries without regard to the actual beliefs of the individuals that live in them.

  4. Pergaps a little off topic:
In regard to child sex abuse, AT LAST, the Australian Government has announced it is to establish a wide ranging Royal Commission [the equivalent of a federal Grand Jury] into child sexual abuse. Can be read HERE

By far the single greatest organisational cover-up was perpetrated by the Catholic Church in this country.

The Apocalypse of John is coming to this town soon.

    1. Just a reminder that whenever a politician is classified ‘liberal’, in Australia they are conservative politicians, as distinct from Labor politicians; ie, Liberal = Republican equivalent, Labor= Democrat equivalent.

Cardinal George Pell, the highest ranked Catholic in the country, despite his rhetorical bravado is wearing his brown trousers.

  5. À propos should be written in 2 words.
I find amusing that there are often french expressions in this blogsite…
Ce n’est pas quelque chose à laquelle je m’attendais…
