  1. I’m so glad you posted this.

I’m a subscriber to J&M, and I laughed out loud when I found this in my inbox this morning. L

    1. Morecambe and Wise were my first thought when I first saw J&M a few years ago.

      The J&M writer is a clearly a M&W fan.

He’s playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.

  2. It has always puzzled me that islam is so harsh on apostates, given that all moslems are the descendents of apostates.

And probably slave owners as well.

    Though probably not polychaete annelids.

    1. It has always puzzled me that islam is so harsh on apostates, given that all moslems are the descendents of apostates.

They are? How does that work?

I can see how they’re all descendents of unbelievers, but not apostates. An apostate is someone who has been a part of a group and renounces it.

      1. To become a muslim you have to renounce your existing religion. That makes you an apostate. Unless you’re an atheist, but I’m betting there weren’t many of those in 7th century Arabia.

  3. Genius! I wish I had a quarter of his/her brain. I can’t understand how he/she can summarize so many important points in just four cartoon frames. Whoever he/she is (and I’d rather not know, for security reasons), I raise my cup to him/her. Cheers, mate!

(Is “mate” a common-gender noun, by the way? Somehow “Cheers, friend” does not have the same matey ring to it).

  4. Ray Moscow said “Jesus was pretty slow there. He should have killed apostate Mo a moment after the first switch of faith.”

That would not work. Mo as Jesus would have risen again on the 3rd day

  5. I can’t believe this cartoonist hasn’t been fatwa’ed already.
Islam, the train wreck that never ends.

  6. Someone will be offended that they might be gay, and ignore that a death penalty for apostacy is an offensive crime to any rational person.
