Is it kosher to make art out of meat? Apparently so, for here’s Vincent van Gogh’s classic painting, “Starry Night,” rendered in bacon:
You can find step-by-step instructions on how to make your own bacon painting here.

Wow. Someone has *way* too much time on their hands…
Maybe they bought it here:

This is probably as entertaining as the cat burning from the 16th century.
I suppose you could call this pork-impressionism.
Oh, man! Somebody really needs to make a bacon Mohammed. I might just have to invest in a basket full of Tesco value bacon!
Oh, please do!
😀
Well, somebody already did that with Emperor Rudolf II but with fruits and vegetables.
But hey, maybe someone could also render that in bacon 😉
Van Gogh wasn’t much of a meat eater. If one is to use food as a medium to replicate his work, perhaps his “Potato Eaters” or “Wheatfields” would be more appropriate.
That being said, pass me a fork…
I wish the cafe at the Van Gogh museum had those.

Jerry, have you ever written on vegetarianism? I would love to hear your thoughts.
So when will we see some of Francis Bacon’s works, rendered in bacon?
We used to be told that Bacon was Shakespeare; now we’re being shown that van Gogh was Bacon…
Are you implying that Bacon wrote Hamlet?
You’re opening a multiverse of forking paths:
– Hamlet au jambon*
– Francis Bacon, not Francis Bacon

(* …yes, but can the steam engine do this?)
Here’s some Francis Bacon you can eat with a fork.
Oh, the porcinity!
And, noted in passing somewhere yesterday, there’s a Bacon of the Month Club! Not only that, but Googling just now, there are MULTIPLE ones! Here’s a guy who’s in FOUR of them, and wants to know if there are any more!
(Repeat chorus).
Was it at his site that I saw a link to bacon turtles the other day? If not here it is.
Sorry if I’ve just reposted something you’ve all seen…
I’m afraid you did repost something we’d all seen, i.e. you provided a link to your post.
Here’s some bacon turtles. 😉
Whoops.

There is a cafe in Snook, TX, which is famous for chicken-fried bacon. I have not been there, but it is on my life list.
While living in Pittsburgh some years ago, I noticed that the Kosher market we sometimes shopped at sold something called Baco-Bits, which were strictly Kosher, but supposedly tasted like those bacon crumbles used in salads.
But how would an observant customer know?
Reblogged this on lymantriidae and commented:
you cannot go past this, even as a vegetarian
