About 72 years ago when I was 11 I had to walk from our farm to school. The route took me through a small village. One house in the vilage had a cherry tree at the side of the yard and a high “slat” fence wth a horizontal board facing the road about a foot below the top in front. A cat was usually sitting on the horizontal board with the top of the fence between it and the cherry tree. One day just as I walked by the cat jumped up at least a foot and a half above the top, caught a bird with front paws and its mouth as it flew over the fence from cherry tree, transferred the bird to the mouth only and landed on all fours on my side of the fenc! Yes! Cats can jump!
