The 29th edition of Carnival of Evolution is up at the Byte Size Biology site. There’s no need to scour separate websites for evolution news: it’s all here. Penguins, anti-creationism, plants and spiders competing for prey—even a six-digit cat (known in the trade as a “super scratcher). Have a look.

Way to go, Jerry!
But in fact, it is not all there. There is a lot there, but I happen to know that there are still posts written about evolution every month that don’t make it into CoE – because people don’t submit them. What to do?
That is nothing, my cat has six on both it’s front feet and seven on both back, the record has seven on all fours.
Email me a photo!
Sorry she just has six on each, I could still send pics if you like.
Actually, they’re known in the trade as “polydactyls.” I can’t tell if you’re just being coy, or really didn’t know about the prevalence of polydactyly in cats.
Legend goes that Ernest Hemingway preferentially adopted polydactyl cats, and to this day the cat population in Key West is over-represented by polydactyls. I’ve no idea if this is true. If only there were an evolutionary biologist I could ask . . . .
