This cartoonist is definitely one of “us”.
Must be nice to have a job where you can hang around the blogs all day, making comments and occasionally doing some “real” work…oh wait…
No, can’t be me. I don’t draw.
I wish these cartoons were funny. They are strained and come across as childish, sort of like a kid saying “Nah, Nah”.
I think of it like a kid saying “the emperor has no clothes”
Irony is never funny to those whose positions catalyze its genesis.
To the rest of us, it’s often quite tasty.

Gary Larson used to make fun of religious ideas. They were hilarious–God hitting a “smite” button on his keyboard to make a piano fall on someone’s head; or the funny “creationism explained” lecture. I like making fun of myself as much as the next guy. But humor is humor and this cartoonist doesn’t have it.
You don’t think that might be a matter of opinion? I always find J&M funny, although not always in a way that makes me laugh out loud. It’s a situation comedy; the humour comes from the multiple layers of irony. The fact that you have to go hunting for it doesn’t make it any less funny.
Of course, since you appear to be the sole arbiter of what is and isn’t funny, my sense of humour must be broken and I must be wrong.
Strange.
With me, I find the reverse.
J&M renderings are far more intellectually biting than Larson’s surreal inoffensive salary-earners.

A funny cartoon or cartoonist is someone who provokes a sensation of humor in others, disregarding how many is in that set.
By any measure then this cartoonist is funny. He/she LOLs me.
That someone doesn’t find a humorous situation funny is often due to that the joke is on him/her. Not getting that and keeping on insisting blaming the offender is kind of sad … and kind of accommodationist.
I disagree with the implication that anyone not rolling on the floor is an accommodationist shill. I think “Jesus and Mo” is often insightful, and usually very cute, but it doesn’t ever make me laugh out loud the way that, say, “Me Am Play Gods” did.
I wouldn’t blame the cartoonist, though. Probably I just have an aberrant sense of humor — I don’t find Monte Python particularly amusing, either (although I acknowledge being a tiny minority in that regard).
